Rephrase does not work

It used to work. Now, I get permanent busy indicator.

The busy indicator shows up far more now than it ever did. A five-word sentence caused a ten-minute circling tailchaser. I finally gave up.

The behavior under the last few releases changed. I use the rephrase primarily with Sticky. When I click the Rephrase button on a sticky sentence, it only occasionally works, usually at the top of the page. In all other cases, it exhibits one of two behaviors. Sometimes it will jump the highlight up to the sentence at the top of the page and rephrase that. Most of the time, the rephrase just goes on forever, as John Davis reports. I'm using the standalone version build 2.4.26678 on Mac OS X Big Sur, 11.7.10.
